During the last 5 years the transobturator tape (TOT) procedure has become a frequent surgical technique for the treatment of SUI instead of retro pubic vaginal tape (TVT). The cure rates are almost identical in a range of up to 90%. Nevertheless, these very good results are associated with rare complications such as fistulas and abscesses. Due to the low complication rate it is always a challenge to treat such complications since general guidelines are missing.
