Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akýn Sivaslýoðlu is one of the influential opinion leader of urogynecology (pelviperineology) and functional genital aesthetics in Turkiye. He pioneered to many pelvic surgical techniques and concepts. Moreover some new surgical techniques in the repair of pelvic floor disorders (Sivaslýoðlu Modification in RVF/USL plication) and functional female genital cosmetic surgery (Sivaslýoðlu Thread Lift) have also been developed by him.
His scientific studies have been published in many national and international respected journals, and his publication on the use of mesh on the pelvic floor is one of the most cited publications in the world. He has more than 100 articles published in national and international journals, and the number of citations has reached to 1065.
In particular, some of his publications have guided to the patient management protocols of some of the world’s active associations in the field of urogynecology.
He is the president of the International Pelviperineology Society (ISPP, www.isppofficial.com) as well as the accountant of Urogynecology Society (Türkiye, www.urojinekolojidernegi.org). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of CÝSED. Besides he is the Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Pelviperineology (www.pelviperineology.com)
The book named Sivaslýoðlu Practical Urogynecology, is an important source for current urogynecologic practice. Besides his textbook entitled Sivaslýoðlu Gynecology and Obstetrics is also one of the most read books in the field of gynecology and obstetrics.
He has been setting up educational-instructional national and international congresses, live surgery and cadaver workshops on the pelvic floor disorders, pelvic anatomy and female genital aesthetics.
